Case Summary

The Employment Tribunal dismissed the claimant's unfair dismissal claim for want of jurisdiction but found that the tribunal had jurisdiction to hear claims of disability and race discrimination. The claimant appeared on his own behalf, while the respondent was represented by a barrister.

Why this outcome?

No qualifying employment period

The tribunal lacked jurisdiction to hear the unfair dismissal claim, likely because the claimant did not meet the qualifying period of two years' continuous employment required by statute for such claims.
