Case Summary

The Claimant's unfair dismissal claim is struck out as she was employed for less than two years and therefore the Tribunal has no jurisdiction to consider the claim.

EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNALS BETWEEN Claimant and Respondent Ms P Lawrence Fat Hippo Restaurants Ltd JUDGMENT OF THE EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL SITTING AT: London Central ON: 23 December 2025 BEFORE: Employment Judge A M Snelson (in chambers) On reading the documents on the digital file, the Tribunal determines that the Claimant’s complaint of unfair dismissal is struck out as having no reasonable prospect of success (the Tribunal having no jurisdiction to consider it). REASONS 1. By her claim form the Claimant complained of unfair dismissal only, but stated that she had been employed by the Respondent for less than two years ending with her dismissal. 2. By a letter dated 14 October 2025 the Claimant was advised that the Tribunal was considering striking out the claim for want of jurisdiction, on the basis that she had not been employed for two years and so had not qualified for the right not to be unfairly dismissed. Her comments were invited. 3. The Claimant has not responded to the letter of 14 October. 4. I am satisfied that it is just and proportionate to strike out the claim as having no reasonable prospect of success because the Tribunal appears to have no jurisdiction to consider it. The final hearing on 29-30 December is vacated. _______________________ EMPLOYMENT JUDGE SNELSON Date: 23 December 2025 Judgment entered in the Register and copies sent to the parties on 23 December 2025 ........................ for Office of the Tribunals
